India offers help to earthquake-hit Morocco

Morocco is in a state of shock after a powerful earthquake struck the country on Friday night, killing more than 2,000 people. A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Morocco. The epicenter of the quake was located in the Moroccan High Atlas mountain range, about 46 miles (74 kilometers) southeast of Marrakech.

Many countries including India, France, Spain, Turkey, and the United States conveyed their deep sympathy and condolences and also assured assistance to Morocco in these tough times. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his condolences to those who were killed and offered help to Morocco.

This earthquake is the deadliest to hit Morocco in decades. It is also the most powerful earthquake to hit the country since the 1960 Agadir earthquake, which killed over 12,000 people.

The Moroccan government has declared a state of emergency in the affected areas. The government is providing financial assistance to the victims and is working to rebuild the damaged infrastructure.
