On Thursday, while speaking in detail about the development works during the no-confidence motion debate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his support for the people of Manipur and assured that peace will soon be restored in the state.

He stated that Home Minister Amit Shah had provided a comprehensive account of the situation in Manipur. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the state will soon be able to move forward with renewed vigor and purpose.

Modi said, “I want to assure the people that peace will be restored in Manipur in the coming time. I want to tell the people of Manipur including women and daughters of Manipur that the country is with you.”

The PM also took a dig at the opposition alliance called I.N.D.I.A. He said that “the attraction for the name is not new. They think that they can rule the country by changing names. Their names could be seen everywhere but not work. Congress has no originality. They are in denial mode since 2014.”

He also highlighted how – “some trying to tarnish our image on global stage, but world knows the truth and won’t be misled.”

Referring to the speech of Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha where he said that – Bharat Mata was killed in Manipur by the ruling party, Modi responded by saying “I’m surprised to see the kind of language used against Bharat Mata. They talk about the death of democracy, and institutions. They broke Bharat Mata into 3 pieces,” says PM.

Speaking at length in the Lok Sabha, PM said, “For us, Northeast is a part of our body. The people of Northeast are not responsible for this situation… but Congress’s rule is the origin of all the troubles plaguing Northeast.”
