India defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs in the Asia Cup Super match on Tuesday. Kuldeep Yadav seems to be the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets for 43 runs in his 9.3 overs. He was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja who took 2 wickets each and cemented India’s victory in the thrilling cricket match today.

Rohit Sharma continued his consistent performance and scored another half-century (53 runs) in 48 balls. His innings boast of seven 4s and two 6s. KL Rahul scored 39 runs in 44 balls and was the second-highest run-getter in today’s match against the Lankans.

Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage continued his fight and hit 42 runs in 46 balls. He remained not out but his efforts went in vain as the Indian side was too good to give any chance to the Lankan batsman to make a comeback in the game. Dhananjaya de Silva played good as well. He made 44 runs in 66 balls and kept fighting to improve his side’s chances of victory. Jadeja was successful in bowling him out as Gill took a catch on the mid-on.

The win takes India to the top of the Super Four table with 4 points.

Kuldeep Yadav’s performance was a welcome one for India. He has been struggling for form in recent months, but he showed on Tuesday that he still has the ability to be a match-winner. He took 5 wickets against Pakistan on Monday.

Not to forget that Kuldeep took 5 wickets in a match against Pakistan and propelled India towards victory which was supported by Virat Kohli’s outstanding performance where he scored a century and remained not out till the finish.

He was able to extract a good turn from the pitch and bowled with great control. He also showed his ability to take wickets in the middle overs, which is an area where India has struggled in recent times.

India will be hoping that Kuldeep can continue his good form in the upcoming matches. They will need all their bowlers firing if they want to win the Asia Cup.

In addition to the above, here are some other things to note about the match:
