Legal action was initiated against Mohammad Zubair, co-founder of Alt News, as a First Information Report (FIR) was officially registered against him in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The FIR was lodged following allegations of Zubair’s involvement in disclosing the identity of a minor boy involved in a distressing incident.

The incident in question revolves around a minor boy who had reportedly been subjected to an unfortunate incident involving his classmates, under the instruction of a teacher. A viral video showed the boy, studying in a private school at UP, being slapped by his peers.

The case has been filed under Section 74 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. This particular section of the Act focuses on safeguarding the confidentiality and protection of minors’ identities, reflecting the importance of maintaining their privacy during legal proceedings.

Zubair’s alleged involvement in the exposure of the minor’s identity has led to the initiation of legal proceedings against him. The FIR signifies the commencement of an investigation into the matter, highlighting the significance of upholding the legal rights and security of minors as mandated by the Juvenile Justice Act.

A viral video from UP showed that a private school teacher who claims to be handicapped asked students to slap a boy from the minority community. The incident created a political argument between the BJP and the Congress, leading to action against the accused teacher.

While the Congress blamed the BJP for the incident, the BJP said that this incident had been given a political angle.

Meanwhile, the teacher has been booked by the Uttar Pradesh Police under Sections 323 (causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code.
