India is going to get its newest city in Uttar Pradesh. The master plan for setting up New Noida city has been approved in the board meeting today. New Noida will be part of Delhi-NCR and the government authorities may soon start acquiring land for this establishing this new city. The government seeks to promote industrial development in the Dadri-Sikandrabad region where ‘New Noida’ is proposed to be established.

New Noida is being built as an extension of Gautam Buddha Nagar i.e. Noida. The master plan of this new city is also known as Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR).

Noida Authority has identified 21,000 hectares of agricultural land in 86 villages of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr districts and is planning to set up this new city. The demand for residential and commercial spaces has shot up across Delhi NCR. Noida, Greater Noida West (also known as Noida Extension), and other sectors of Noida are already either fully occupied or will be exhausted in the next few years. Delhi NCR is witnessing an increase in population, and it was felt that the new city can cater to the rising demand for residential and commercial spaces.

Since the land is limited in Noda for further development, that is why, there is a need now to acquire land parcels and establish a new city to accommodate this rising demand.

It is learned that the Noida Authority has already allocated Rs 1000 crore for land acquisition and internal development of the New Noida city. About 6 lakh people are expected to settle in this city.

New Noida will have a logistics hub, knowledge centers, integrated townships, and skill development centers. The city will also have dedicated areas for industries, offices, universities, and residential purposes.

As per estimates by the authority, more than 2000 hectares of land will be allotted for residential projects and over 8100 hectares of land will be earmarked for industries. Nearly 1600 hectares will be kept for medical and engineering colleges in this new city.

New Noida unlike Noida and Greater Noida seeks to promote industrial growth rather than focusing on just residential developments. The master plan for this new city was drafted by the School of Planning and Architecture. The new city seeks to offer facilities such as a logistics hub, knowledge center, and integrated township along with development centers, etc.
