The National Commission for Women recently conducted a vital PoSH Awareness workshop on Thursday, for the Faridabad Police Department, impacting around 250 dedicated police officials.

The workshop was aimed at creating safer workplaces and a better future for women. It was in line with NCW’s mandate to raise awareness on the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace.

NCW posted on its account on X, “The National Commission for Women, in line with its mandate, is committed to raising awareness on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace. Recently, a vital PoSH Awareness workshop took place on Sep 13, 2023, for the Faridabad Police Department.”

NCW organizes PoSH Awareness Workshop across the country.

These workshops are led by experts on the Act, including representatives of important government and non-government organizations. They discuss the key provisions of the Act, as well as how to report and prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

These workshops create an opportunity for women to learn more about their rights under the POSH Act and how to protect themselves from sexual harassment.

Here are some of the key topics that are typically covered in workshops:

  • What is the Act and what does it cover?
  • What are the different types of sexual harassment?
  • What are the rights of victims of sexual harassment?
  • How to report sexual harassment
  • How to prevent sexual harassment

It also includes question-and-answer sessions, where participants have the opportunity to ask the panel of experts any questions they have about the POSH Act.

Importance of PoSH Awareness

POSH awareness is important because it can help prevent sexual harassment from happening in the first place. By educating employees about what sexual harassment is and how to report it, organizations can create a culture of respect and safety.
