WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to share their screens during video calls. This is a great way to collaborate with others, share information, or give tech support. To use the WhatsApp screen sharing feature, simply start a video call and then tap on the “Share” icon. You can then choose to share a specific app or your entire screen. The other person on the call will be able to see everything that is on your screen, and they will also be able to interact with it.

The screen sharing feature was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on August 8. The new feature is available on both Android and iOS devices, and it is end-to-end encrypted, so you can be sure that your privacy is protected.

To use the screen sharing feature, you need to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device. Then, start a video call with the person you want to share your screen with. During the call, tap on the Share icon at the bottom of the screen. You will then be asked whether you want to share a specific app or your entire screen.

If you choose to share a specific app, WhatsApp will only share the contents of that app. For example, if you are sharing a document, only the document will be shared. If you choose to share your entire screen, WhatsApp will share everything that is on your screen, including any other apps that you are using.

Once you have chosen what you want to share, your screen will then be streamed to the other party. The other party will be able to see everything that is on your screen, and they will also be able to interact with it. For example, if you are sharing a document, they will be able to scroll through it and make changes.

To stop sharing your screen, tap on the Stop Sharing button.

Here are some of the things that you can do with the screen sharing feature on WhatsApp video calls:

  • Present a document or presentation
  • Share a website or app
  • Give tech support
  • Collaborate on a project
  • Play a game together

The screen sharing feature is a great way to collaborate with others and share information. It is also a great way to give tech support or play games with friends.

When screen sharing options won’t work?

According to Whatsapp, the feature won’t work in the following circumstances.

  • During a screen sharing session, the video feeds of call participants appear below shared content.
  • The information displayed on your shared screen, including usernames and passwords, are visible to the person you’re sharing with.
  • Screen sharing isn’t available during audio calls.
  • Audio isn’t available for shared content, such as YouTube, Netflix, or video games.
  • Screen sharing is protected with end-to-end encryption and is never recorded by WhatsApp. No one outside of the call, not even WhatsApp, can see or hear what you share on your screen.
  • For the best experience, update to the latest version of WhatsApp. If participants aren’t using the latest version, an onscreen prompt will appear to update WhatsApp before screen sharing.
