You can capture up to 60 seconds of video and send it as video content or a message within your Whatsapp chat. You will be able to record a small video and send it instantly to your contacts in the Whatsapp account.

Whatsapp has been experimenting with a lot of new features. Editing your messages, and sending messages to be viewed just one time to allow users multiple accounts within the same WhatsApp account are some of the newly added features of the chat messenger app.

Whatsapp writes, “We believe this feature will provide a delightful means to convey sentiments imbued with the emotive power of video. Whether it’s conveying birthday wishes, sharing laughter over a joke, or delivering heartwarming news, video messages capture the essence of the moment.”

“Sending a video message mirrors the simplicity of transmitting a voice message. A mere tap switches you to video mode, while a press-and-hold records your video. For hands-free recording, a swipe upward locks the process. When accessed within a chat, videos auto-play in mute mode, with sound initiated by a tap. To ensure privacy, these video messages benefit from end-to-end encryption, safeguarding your communications.”

“The deployment of video messages has commenced and will progressively become accessible to all users in the following weeks.”

Here are some of the most talked about features of the Whatsapp messenger app:

  • Voice chats in groups: This feature will allow users to have voice chats in groups, similar to the way that voice calls work in WhatsApp, but it will allow for more than two people to participate in the chat at the same time. This will be useful for businesses and organizations that need to have meetings or discussions with multiple people at once.
  • Screen sharing: This feature will allow users to share their screen with other users in a video call. This is useful for presentations, demos, or just for showing someone something on your screen. This feature will be available for both Android and iOS users.
  • Admin review: This feature will allow group admins to review messages before they are sent to the rest of the group. This is useful for preventing spam and abuse. This feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp Beta program and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming months.
  • Passkey: This feature is a new way to verify your WhatsApp account. Instead of using a password, you will use a passkey that is generated on your device. This makes it more secure to sign in to WhatsApp, as your passkey is not stored on WhatsApp’s servers. This feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp Beta program and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming months.
  • Edit sent messages: This feature will allow users to edit messages that they have already sent. This is useful for correcting typos or making changes to a message after it has been sent. This feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp Beta program and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming months.
  • View once messages: This feature will allow users to send messages that can only be viewed once by the recipient. This is useful for sending sensitive information or for sending messages that you do not want the recipient to be able to save or screenshot. This feature is currently being tested in the WhatsApp Beta program and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming months.
  • Multi-device support: This feature will allow users to use WhatsApp on multiple devices at the same time. This is useful for users who have multiple phones or tablets. This feature is currently being tested in the  WhatsApp Beta program and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming months.

WhatsApp is constantly adding new features, so it is likely that we will see even more new features in the future.

Whatsapp is a popular messenger app in India.
