Senior Superintendent of Police, Mahakumbh Nagar, Rajesh Dwivedi, emphasised the importance of staying vigilant and avoiding rumours. “We urge devotees to cooperate with the police and administration to maintain order. If anyone faces any issues, our teams are available 24/7 to help,” he said.

To manage the massive crowds, the administration has issued clear guidelines for devotees:

What to Do:

  • Use designated lanes to reach the Sangam Ghat.
  • Stay in your lane while heading for the Ganga Snan (holy bath).
  • After bathing and darshan, proceed directly to the parking area.
  • When visiting temples, stick to your lane and move smoothly towards your destination.
  • Seek police assistance if needed.
  • In case of health concerns, visit the nearest sector hospital.
  • Be patient at barricades and pontoon bridges; avoid rushing.
  • Use eco-friendly utensils like paper, jute, or kulhads (clay cups).
  • Remember, all ghats are part of the Sangam – bathe at the ghat you reach.

What Not to Do:

  • Avoid stopping in large groups at any one location.
  • Don’t let crowds meet face-to-face while arriving or leaving.
  • Ignore rumours or misinformation, especially on social media.
  • Don’t rush or show urgency while visiting temples.
  • Avoid stopping on pathways; use designated holding areas instead.
  • Don’t fall for misleading suggestions about arrangements or services.
  • Refrain from spreading unverified news.
  • Avoid rushing for the sacred bath.
  • Say no to plastic bags and utensils.

The administration is also focusing on environmental sustainability, urging pilgrims to avoid plastic and opt for eco-friendly alternatives. With the Mahakumbh being one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, the emphasis is on ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all.

As the city buzzes with spiritual fervour, the police and administration are working tirelessly to maintain order and provide assistance. Devotees are encouraged to follow the guidelines and contribute to making this historic event a success.

Stay safe, stay alert, and enjoy the divine experience of the Mahakumbh 2025!
