Delhi Accident

The incident occurred around 11:20 PM when Sushil Sharma was on his way to their home in Sangam Vihar with his daughter. She works for an interior design company and was returning home late due to work commitments and heavy rainfall that evening. Unable to find an alternative mode of transport, she decided to take the metro. Sushil, a caring father, had asked her to meet him at the Govindpuri Metro Station so he could accompany her home safely on their motorbike.

Tragically, their journey was cut short just moments after they left the metro station. A speeding car, which eyewitnesses say was moving recklessly, hit the motorbike from behind, throwing both Sushil and his daughter onto the road. The impact was severe; Sushil suffered multiple fractures and head injuries, while his daughter, though injured, escaped with less severe wounds. The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the father and daughter lying on the road, bleeding and in desperate need of medical attention.

Govindpuri Hit and Run Aftermath

Passersby quickly gathered around the injured duo and called for help. They were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where Sushil was admitted in critical condition. His daughter, who was conscious, sustained injuries to her legs and arms but was later discharged after initial treatment. The family, already reeling from the shock of the accident, now faces a daunting battle as Sushil remains in the intensive care unit (ICU), fighting for his life.

“The doctors have told us that he needs to stay under observation. His condition is critical due to the severe head injury,” said a family member. “We are praying for his recovery, but every moment is filled with uncertainty.”

Family Faces Financial Crisis

Adding to their woes is the growing financial burden. With Sushil being the primary breadwinner of the family, his absence from work has created a significant financial strain. The cost of his ongoing treatment, coupled with the loss of income, has pushed the family to the brink of a financial crisis.

“The medical bills are piling up, and we don’t know how we will manage,” said Sushil’s relative, who is now left to shoulder both the emotional and financial weight of this tragedy. “We are waiting for the police to find the person responsible, but each day is a struggle. We need justice, and we need help.”

Govindpuri Police Investigation

An FIR was registered at the Govindpuri Police Station on the night of the accident. The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the hit-and-run case, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The victim’s family requested police to review the CCTV footage from the area and have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the driver involved. The car driver is still at large and no arrest has been made so far in the case. The family expects the police to nab the culprit as soon as possible.

A Plea for Justice

As Sushil Sharma battles for his life in the hospital, his family waits anxiously for a breakthrough in the case. They hope that the driver responsible for their pain and suffering will be apprehended soon. The incident has once again highlighted the issue of road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws in the city.

“We just want justice for my father,” said Sushil’s daughter, her voice filled with both pain and determination. “He always took care of us, and now it’s our turn to fight for him.”

The Sharma family, along with many others in the community, is calling for swift action from the authorities to bring the culprit to justice and prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future. As they navigate through this difficult time, they remain hopeful that the system will not fail them and that justice will be served.
