Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was attacked in his Mumbai house early morning on Thursday. An intruder entered his Bandra house around 2:30 am and was confronted, resulting in a violent altercation. Saif sustained six stab wounds, including a severe injury near his spine. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children were present but unharmed.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer, reported that Khan underwent surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife fragment from his spine. Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange stated that the surgery also addressed a spinal fluid leak. Khan is now in the Intensive Care Unit and is expected to be moved to a general ward within a day or two.
The police are actively investigating the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone X) Dikshit Gedam confirmed that an unidentified person entered Khan’s residence, leading to a scuffle. The intruder fled the scene after the attack. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage, which shows no signs of forced entry, suggesting the intruder may have had prior access or assistance. Three individuals have been detained for questioning.
Khan’s family has addressed the public, confirming the attempted burglary and requesting privacy. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team released a statement acknowledging the incident and assuring that the family is safe. They urged the media and fans to refrain from speculation, as the police are conducting their investigation.
This incident comes on the heels of other alarming attacks on Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai. Last month, actor Salman Khan was reportedly targeted in a security breach at his Panvel farmhouse. Although the intruder was apprehended before any harm could occur, the incident raised serious questions about the effectiveness of security measures for high-profile individuals.

Saif Ali Khan, son of former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry.
